Wikidata knows Wanben Wu and much of his work thanks to ORCiD

Wanben Wu is a scientist who according to his ORCiD registration is known for 33 works. I learned about him on BlueSky  (I recommend BlueSky..). I found this picture on his Google Scholar page and I have been adding and attributing papers using Scholia.

One characteristic of the later papers is that co-authors are automagically identified by their ORCiD identifier. As I continue I find that for later papers this link is missing eg this one. Linking to Wanben Wu for that paper was done by hand.

What many of these later papers have in common is that many compatriot are not identified in this way. Consequently Wikidata knows more European scientists than Chinese scientists.

Now consider an AI function that matches the missing authors with likely candidates known in Wikidata and/or ORCiD. The result will be more Chinese scientists and their work known as part of the "sum of all knowledge". Another benefit is that more papers are available as references in all the Wikipedias.
