#Wikidata - Jens Brugge; a judge from Norway

Mr Brugge, a high court judge from Norway died. According to the article about him, his lineage is illustrious. Many generations in the Brugge family were quite notable.  It can be seen in GeneaWiki2 and, it can be shown inline or in a separate window from the Reasonator.

There is an increasing amount of genealogical information available in Wikidata. The value of all this data is not in having it, it is in using it. At this time 29,337 people are known to have a father and 13,336 people are known to have a mother. Obviously, these numbers will only increase and become more complete. Would it not be wonderful to share this information in Wikipedia articles as well?

#Wikidata - Dagfinn Aarskog, a Norwegian pediatrician

Mr Aarskog is or was a Norwegian pediatrician. One Wikipedia article suggests that he died in 2014 but did not give a precise date, there is no source for Mr Aarskog's demise either.

When you come across a person like Mr Aaskog, you read his article and find that a syndrome is named after him and after a Mr Charles I. Scott. Mr Scott, an American, did not have a label in English but he did have an article in German.

The German article has it that another syndrome, the "Hecht-Scott-Syndrom" is also named after Mr Scott. The other half in that name is Jacqueline T. Hecht. When you google for her, notability is quite obvious.. and she is a scientist and a female.

An awful lot of information is hidden in the nooks and crannies of many Wikipedias. Some of it filters through in Wikidata and as it does, it becomes available for us to share as it became "available knowledge".

#Wikidata - the queen of Olympic figure skating

With three gold Olympic medals for figure skating and being the world champion ten times, Mrs Henie is an undisputed queen of figure skating. She followed up her career as a skater by becoming an actress. She married into money and a museum in Norway is named after her and her husband.

It is quite funny that with the Olympic games in Sochi taking place, there is no reflection on what is happening in Wikidata. I could not find how to indicate that Mrs Henie was an Olympic champion and consequently the results for speed skating are not available either.
